Asian Fields
Left building I Second Floor
Restaurant | Auditorium | Open meeting
The second floor, with its arched ceiling, height, openness, natural light, and beautiful views, simply begged to become a unique meeting space. A place conducive to a variety of meeting types and sizes—small and large settings, or even a quiet spot to make calls and prepare for meetings. The podium, with its numerous seating areas and varying elevations, along with the incredible acoustics of the acoustically treated ceiling, support this modern and contemporary way of working.
"Turning off the lights and turning on the spotlight is all that's needed to transform the space from a restaurant to a theater."
Gregor Roovers - Voss Architecture
At the highest level at the rear, three eye-catching Suar tree trunk tables are equipped with cooling systems and warming techniques for serving lunch. Behind the spiral staircase is the show kitchen, which is connected to the large hospitality/preparation kitchen in the basement via a lift.
In addition to serving as a company restaurant, there was also a desire to have an auditorium on-site. Guest lectures, inspiration sessions, presentations, and performances for a large group necessitate a tribune. The different levels are reminiscent of sawahs, the rice fields of Asia. That is also the styling we applied here. Natural tones in soft green, light brown and warm colors, organic shapes and matching ambient lighting.
Acoustics
We adorned the arched ceiling with wooden grids featuring acoustic panels. The diamond-shaped wood structure creates a beautiful interplay of lines, while the soft material ensures fantastic acoustics. Abundantly present, carefully placed greenery in curved planters enhances the natural and Asian atmosphere in a pleasant manner.
Circular seating areas, upholstered benches, natural stone tables, and wooden chairs spread across the various platforms combine to create a dynamic and homely whole. The centerpiece on the lowest platform is visible from the entire space, making it the ideal position for a speaker or presentation on the drop-down screen.
