Supporting PSV in style: A brand new Skybox for Bernardus
After designing the new HQ of Bernardus Wine and Memories, we were also entrusted with the complete renovation of Bernardus’ in the PSV stadium. The result is a sophisticated space where the passion for PSV meets the refined experiences of Bernardus. Through a thoughtful combination of light and materials, an ambiance is created that is both stylish and welcoming – a perfect reflection of the Bernardus experience.
The Bernardus Skybox
A Skybox in the Phillips Stadium is the ultimate space to host guests in an intimate setting and enjoy the match together in complete comfort. Bernardus Wine and Memories is a distinguished winery that focuses on quality, innovation, and sustainability. Bernardus seamlessly combines world-class wines with exclusive golfing experiences at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, both drived by the same passion for refinement.
We extended the design language of the headquarters into the Skybox, creating a recognizable and cohesive experience for both employees and guests. The interior is composed by a serene color palette and carefully selected materials. This results in a space that reflects the refined character of Bernardus, while simultaneously exuding a deep love for PSV. A place where enjoyment and gathering are key, complete with a fine glass of wine and an exceptional view of PSV’s matches.
The style of the space is brought to life in the finest details. In collaboration with our partners, we incorporated unique elements that exude craftsmanship. These include the exquisite plasterwork by ByWendy, the parquet flooring with a distinctive pattern by Barc Flooring, and the organically shaped acoustic ceilings by AMB. These well-thought-out, custom-made details enhance the refined appearance of the Bernardus Skybox.
Meneer Voss curated all the freestanding furniture in the space, including a remarkable custom-made solid walnut table surrounded by elegant chairs from partner Artisan. The carpet is also a Meneer Voss collection titled ‘Dutch Horizons’. It is inspired by the four seasons and the beauty of the North Sea. In the Bernardus Skybox, the ‘spring’ edition is featured in an oval design, harmonizing perfectly with the oval table above it.
Marble as an eyecatcher
The uniquely formed Carrara marble bar is the central showpiece in the lounge. Both the bar and the back wall do justice to the exceptional wines served here. Flowing elegantly around the large column of the stadium. The bar transforms the lounge into a stunning interplay of marble, wood, and wine.
Additionally, in collaboration with René Thijs, solid marble strips have been innovatively applied to the walls and beneath the bar. The marble on the wall is arranged in an open-book layout, accentuating the natural veining of the stone, which is subtly illuminated by the Bernardus logo.
Lighting plays a vital role in shaping the ambiance of the Skybox. By integrating subtle lighting accents throughout—within the wine cabinet, under the bar, and in the ceiling pattern—we have created an intimate atmosphere. As the finishing touch, the unique pendant light, ‘Flock of Light’ by Moooi, hangs above the table, adding an extra dimension and charm to the space.
