Renovation and extension of a monumental 1930s family home
This semi-detached house was undoubtedly modern in the 1930s, but when we arrived in 2011, it was clear that a lot needed to be done here. Eventually, the entire house, recognized as a municipal monument, underwent a complete renovation. We also designed two modern glass extensions at the rear of the house, to upgrade the home to meet modern-day requirements.
Contemporary transformation
The entire house retained its historical character but underwent a thorough renovation, with the addition of a spacious, modern kitchen and study. The design is characterized by the extensive use of glass and openness, which forms a striking contrast to the original house. The connection between inside and outside is reinforced by the visually continuous tiles to the terrace, which makes the extension blend harmoniously into the surroundings. 80 years later, the house has once again become a pleasant, contemporary family home!
